Principal Investigator
Floyid Nicolas, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Agricultural Water Management
Dr. Nicolas is an Assistant Professor of Agrohydrology and Water Management in the Department of Biological and Ecological Engineering at Oregon State University. He is based at the Central Oregon Agricultural Research and Extension Center (COAREC) in Madras, Oregon. His research focuses on agricultural water management and irrigation efficiency, soil hydrology and groundwater sustainability, evapotranspiration measurement and modeling, and climate-smart agriculture.
His interdisciplinary approach aims to enhance irrigation efficiency, evapotranspiration estimates, crop production, groundwater sustainability, and quality through the development of comprehensive modeling frameworks and decision-support tools to support farmers and policymakers in making data-driven management decisions.
Lab Members
D
Shikha Dubey, Ph.D.
Shikha supports the lab's research and extension through field experiments, soil and water sampling, instrumentation, and data management. Her background spans soil fertility and agronomy, with experience in multi-location on-farm nitrogen trials, greenhouse and remediation studies, and machine learning. She holds a Ph.D. in Plant and Environmental Sciences from Clemson University and an M.S. in Soil Science.
Kondwani Kamsikiri, M.S.
Kondwani supports research and extension through field experiments, instrumentation, data collection, grower engagement, and outreach. His interests include precision irrigation, nutrient management, and data-driven decision support to improve irrigation efficiency. Before joining Oregon State University, he contributed to smart irrigation and hydrology research at the University of Florida and supported irrigation-related projects for commercial and smallholder farming systems in Malawi.
